The BYD factory in Brazil has reached a milestone by producing its 100,000th vehicle within just over one year of operation.

Rapid Production Growth
The company accelerated production by adding a second shift in November last year to meet growing consumer demand. The 100,000th vehicle to roll off the production line was an all-electric Dolphin Mini model.
BYD delivered 99,029 vehicles in Brazil during the first half of 2026. June alone accounted for 21,254 deliveries, with the Dolphin Mini ranking among the brand's top-selling models.
Expanding Manufacturing Capacity
The Camacari factory currently has an annual production capacity of 150,000 units. The facility employs more than 5,500 workers to sustain its current Manufacturing pace.
Executives plan to significantly expand operations to achieve a long-term goal of 600,000 vehicles per year. The company also aims to source half of its vehicle parts locally from Brazilian suppliers.
Regional Strategic Goals
The factory currently assembles three different models including the all-electric Dolphin Mini and two plug-in hybrids. BYD intends to introduce more vehicle models to the production line in the near future.
The aggressive expansion reflects the company's ambition to become the top-selling car brand in Brazil by 2030. Success in Latin America could offset slower growth and intensifying competition in other global markets.
