reveals its first battery-powered offering, the 2027 Electric. The luxury SUV maintains an identical exterior design to its internal-combustion siblings while introducing a high-performance electric powertrain.

Electric Powertrain and Performance

Twin electric motors deliver a total of 542 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. Early automaker estimates place the 0-60-mile-per-hour sprint time in the 4.3-second range.

The dual motors feature silicon carbide semiconductors and pump out 20 percent more torque than competitively sized units. JLR designed the layout to maximize efficiency and responsiveness on the road.

Battery and Charging Capabilities

A double-stacked battery setup consists of 344 prismatic cells with a total capacity of 118.5 kWh. This configuration provides an estimated driving range of 333 miles on a single charge.

An 800-volt electrical architecture allows the SUV to add 125 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Drivers can also charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes.

Off-Road Capability and Trims

The electric SUV maintains serious off-road credentials with the ability to wade through 35 inches of water. Intelligent Driveline Dynamics shifts torque around the rear axle to prevent wheel slip within 50 milliseconds.

Pricing starts at $140,450 in the U.S., with order books officially open for trims including SE, Autobiography, SV, SV Black, and SV Ultra. The lineup includes both short- and long-wheelbase variants.
