unveiled the limited-edition Defender Dakar during at The Quail. The new model celebrates the brand's class victory in the 2026 Dakar Rally.

Power and performance features

Buyers receive a twin-turbo V-8 engine producing 626 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. This output matches the existing Octa while surpassing the restricted power of the race truck.

The vehicle rides on 35-inch all-terrain tires and new forged 20-inch wheels. modified the suspension using coil springs and motorsport Bilstein Dampers.

Special drive modes include Dunes, Gravel, and an innovative Flight Mode designed to smooth out jumps. The race truck originally developed Flight Mode to handle harsh landings.

Exterior and interior upgrades

The exterior features roof-mounted light pods, a carbon-fiber hood, and raised air intakes. Huge wheel flares with exposed rivets accentuate its aggressive wide-stance appearance.

The rear-mounted spare tire moves inside the cargo area alongside an integrated air compressor. Improved underbody protection and signature mud flaps complete the rugged exterior build.

The cabin adopts a 2+2 seating layout featuring custom race-style bucket seats in the front. Four-point harnesses remain available as an optional add-on for enthusiasts.

Pricing and market release

has not yet released official pricing for the limited-run Dakar. However, the model will cost significantly more than the Octa Black Edition, which starts at about $170,000.

The company plans to officially open reservations for the vehicle in early 2027. Production numbers will be strictly limited for this high-performance variant.
