Geely Unveils Highly Efficient Electric Drive System

Chinese manufacturer Geely Galaxy has unveiled a new intelligent electric drive system that sets an industry record. The newly developed system achieves a comprehensive energy efficiency rate of 93.8%. Company officials revealed the today at a product launch event.

Advanced Hardware Integration Details

The system consolidates 12 distinct hardware functions and four software capabilities into a single unit. Engineers removed more than 180 redundant components to create a highly compact powertrain layout. The combined components include the motor controller, active pre-charge control, and the thermal management system.

A lightweight magnesium alloy housing keeps the total weight of the machinery at 75 kg. This design represents a 15% weight reduction compared to existing mainstream industry alternatives. The compact frame also saves roughly 28 litres of additional trunk space for new passenger models.

System Performance and AI Control

The powertrain operates on an 800V high-voltage platform that uses specialized chip to minimize control delays. Test drivers achieved an energy consumption rate of 8.2 kWh per 100km during trials around Qinghai Lake. The official standard rating for the system rests at 10.7 kWh per 100km.

Integrated artificial intelligence algorithms automatically optimize the power output during extreme weather and high-speed driving conditions. The system stores up to 7 kWh of thermal energy when temperatures drop to minus 18 degrees Celsius. This feature reduces cabin heating energy use by more than 40%.

First Launch in Galaxy TT

The advanced drive makes its market debut inside the Galaxy TT electric sports sedan this month. The new premium sedan measures nearly five metres in length and features a wide wheelbase. Buyers will choose between multiple distinct power configurations and battery sizes.

Available battery options range from 52.4 kWh up to a larger 75.2 kWh capacity pack. These battery packs deliver an official driving range between 540 km and 725 km on a single charge. Development teams hope the platform will accelerate the broader market transition toward sustainable transport.
