Danish manufacturer Zenvo has unveiled the production versions of the Aurora Tur and Aurora Agil at the Festival of Speed. Company executives state the new vehicle focuses on driver engagement rather than breaking performance records.

Prioritizing Feel Over Numbers

The new costs approximately $3 million and features a quad-turbo engine. The hybrid powertrain produces 1,850 horsepower, but the company insists that peak output is not the main priority.

Executive Chairman Jens Sverdrup said the media focuses heavily on the powerful engine. He stated that he cares more about how the car feels, sounds, and vibrates during acceleration.

Mr Sverdrup compared the desired level of involvement to riding a motorcycle. The engineering team designed the vehicle to make the driver feel like a vital piece of the machine.

Classic Benchmarks for Modern Performance

The development team rejected modern benchmarks like Bugatti during the design process. Instead, engineers focused on older vehicles noted for exceptional steering feedback.

Mr Sverdrup cited the Honda NSX and classic 1960s Lotus models as primary performance targets. The vehicle uses a hydraulic steering system to replicate an organic driving feel.

does not offer a manual transmission for the model. Drivers will manage the engine using large shift paddles mounted behind the steering wheel.

Scandinavian Design and Everyday Usability

The incorporates classic Scandinavian design elements that focus on daily usability. The cabin prioritizes driver comfort and offers easy entry and exit compared to rivals.

Mr Sverdrup stated that high top speeds matter little if a vehicle is painful to drive on regular roads. He believes must remain enjoyable even during heavy traffic jams.

Former employees from Koenigsegg, Czinger, and Rimac helped develop the new vehicle. The team believes chasing track records always forces engineers to compromise low-speed performance.
