Lucid hints at a high-performance Gravity variant arriving soon while postponing its more affordable Cosmos midsize SUV to 2027.

Gravity Sapphire Teased
Lucid revealed plans for a sportier Gravity variant during its Q2 2026 earnings presentation. Industry experts suspect this model will adopt the Sapphire badge.
The current Gravity lineup features Touring, Grand Touring, and Dream Edition trims. A tri-motor setup could push performance far beyond current outputs.
Cosmos SUV Delayed
Lucid postponed its smaller Cosmos midsize crossover to 2027. CEO Silvio Napoli confirmed the delay during the earnings presentation.
The company cited quality control as the primary reason for the schedule change. CEO Silvio Napoli stated, "My objective is to launch the car when it is ready with top quality." He added, "In the past, mistakes were done. I want to make sure they’re not repeated here."
Financial Pressures And Testing
New photos of the Cosmos in cold weather testing appeared in the recent presentation. The crossover features a fastback rear end and a tall interior screen.
Lucid recently reported a second-quarter net loss of $1 billion. Perfecting the Cosmos launch remains critical due to its anticipated starting price of $50,000.
