BYD Sealion 08 SUV Pre-Orders Begin In China
BYD has officially started taking pre-orders for the Sealion 08 SUV in China, offering plug-in hybrid and fully electric variants.

Vehicle Dimensions And Design
The flagship SUV targets younger buyers with modern styling cues from the Ocean series. It features semi-hidden door handles, split headlights, and a continuous single taillight unit.
This crossover measures 5,115 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height. Buyers can choose between five-seat and six-seat interior layout configurations.
Powertrain And Charging Specs
The entry-level Plug-in Hybrid combines a 1.5-liter engine with an electric motor to deliver strong performance. Its 55.84 kWh LFP battery provides an electric range of 400 km under CLTC testing conditions.
The all-electric variant utilizes advanced second-generation Blade LFP batteries supporting ultra-fast Flash Charging. Drivers can replenish the battery from 10% to 97% capacity in just nine minutes.
Smart Technology And Sales
The SUV integrates rear-wheel steering and a DiSus-A chassis featuring dual-chamber air suspension. It also equips the LiDAR-based DiPilot 5.0 system for urban and highway autopilot functions.
BYD reported global sales of 411,072 vehicles globally in July, marking a 20.5% increase year-over-year. However, domestic deliveries experienced a downward shift during the same period.
