Xpeng transitions to direct UK sales operations to support new model launches

Xpeng is taking direct control of its UK operations by establishing a new national sales company, transitioning away from the initial distributor model managed by International Motors.

The Chinese manufacturer originally entered the UK market last year through a partnership with International Motors, which handles local distribution for several prominent automotive brands.

Under the restructured arrangement, International Motors will continue providing operational services, ensuring seamless continuity for existing retail partners and loyal customers.

Company executives emphasize that the strategic shift enables heavier investments in brand development, customer experience expansion, and the upcoming rollout of new intelligent vehicle models.

Expanding Product Lineup Targets UK Market Growth

"The establishment of our UK national sales company marks an important next step in Xpeng's long-term commitment to the market," said Elvis Cheng, general manager of Xpeng North Eastern Europe.

Xpeng's direct operational pivot paves the way for the UK introduction of highly anticipated vehicles, including the seven-seat X9 MPV and the sleek L03 SUV-coupe.

William Brown, managing director at International Motors, noted that the agreement benefits all stakeholders by combining global manufacturer backing with decades of local infrastructure expertise.

The brand continues to lean heavily into its technology-first approach, offering advanced electric mobility solutions designed to compete aggressively in Europe's rapidly evolving automotive landscape.
