Smart #5 Brabus revealed as 637bhp high performance electric SUV

Smart #5 Brabus has officially broken cover as the brand's most powerful vehicle ever created, delivering a staggering 637 horsepower through an aggressive dual-motor setup. The all-electric family SUV manages to sprint from 0 to 62mph in just 3.8 seconds, marking a radical departure from the compact city car roots that defined the marque for decades.

Built in collaboration with the renowned German tuning house, the flagship model pairs its immense power output with an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture and a 100kWh battery pack. While the performance configuration results in a slight 30-mile range reduction compared to standard variants, drivers still retain an impressive estimated driving range of 335 miles on a single charge.

Charging capabilities remain a standout feature, utilizing a 400kW maximum charging speed that ranks among the fastest available for electric vehicles in the UK market today. Under optimal conditions, users can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 percent capacity in a mere 18 minutes using compatible high-speed infrastructure.

Despite tipping the scales at nearly 2.5 tonnes, the all-wheel-drive SUV achieves brisk acceleration that easily rivals traditional sports cars and performance saloons. European product management leadership has also confirmed that the vehicle receives a bespoke suspension tuning to handle the substantial surge in power effectively.

Sporty Aesthetics And Competitive European Pricing Revealed

Aesthetic enhancements on the flagship variant include unique 20-inch monoblock alloy wheels, distinctive red brake calipers, and redesigned bumpers that give the vehicle a muscular stance. Exterior styling is further accentuated by contrasting red roof elements, side skirts, and subtle mirror highlights that separate it from the standard lineup.

Interior refinements continue the motorsport-inspired theme with heated and cooled microfibre front seats, intricate contrast stitching, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and prominent Brabus branding throughout the cabin. These bespoke touches underscore its position at the absolute pinnacle of the growing Smart vehicle range.

Pricing details for the UK market remain unconfirmed, but the high-performance electric SUV carries a starting price tag of €60,900 in Germany, roughly translating to £52,000. This competitive pricing structure positions it favourably against established high-performance rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq 5N and Kia EV6 GT.

Official order books and finalized regional pricing are expected to be announced before the vehicle officially goes on sale later this year. Automotive analysts anticipate strong interest from buyers looking for a blend of everyday practicality and high-end electric vehicle performance.
