Isack Hadjar will sit out this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Monza as he continues his recovery from a wrist injury sustained during the summer break.

The Red Bull driver suffered the setback while boxing in training last month, forcing him to miss the Dutch Grand Prix and keeping him sidelined for a second consecutive weekend.

"Liam will drive alongside Max at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, while Isack continues to make encouraging progress following the wrist injury," Red Bull said in a statement on Wednesday.

Medical staff advised against rushing the 21-year-old French driver back to action, with the team targeting a potential return at the upcoming Madrid Grand Prix.

Liam Lawson steps back into the Red Bull cockpit after an impressive performance at Zandvoort where he qualified just one tenth behind Max Verstappen and finished seventh.

The New Zealander's continued promotion leaves Yuki Tsunoda with another chance to showcase his potential further down the grid with Racing Bulls.

Hadjar currently sits eighth in the Drivers Championship standings and has drawn praise from team figures for being a competitive benchmark alongside the world champion.

"The team is closely monitoring his rehabilitation and will take no unnecessary risks with his return to competition and wishes him a speedy recovery," the team added regarding Hadjar's recovery.
