2027 McLaren 788HS debuts as the ultimate farewell for the legendary 720S platform

The 2027 McLaren 788HS arrives as a breathtaking final chapter for the iconic 720S vehicle architecture that first redefined modern supercar performance nearly a decade ago. Bringing together extreme lightweight engineering and track-focused aggression, this new release honors the prestigious High Sport lineage with formidable style.

Powered by a heavily retuned version of the twin-turbocharged M840T V-8 engine, the 788HS cranks out an astonishing 777 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. This immense output pushes the 2,789-pound machine from zero to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 205 mph.

"The 788HS is a fitting finale for the 720S platform, combining record-setting track capabilities with bespoke craftsmanship tailored exclusively for our most dedicated drivers," noted automotive industry insiders tracking the limited-run production.

Acoustic performance matches the blistering speed thanks to a revised quad-exit titanium exhaust system, delivering a sharper, richer exhaust note that complements the vehicle's racing-inspired pedigree.

Aerodynamic enhancements on the 2027 McLaren 788HS include an aggressive multizone front splitter, an active rear spoiler, and a Formula 1-inspired rear diffuser that collectively boost downforce by 10 percent compared to the 765LT. These elements work seamlessly alongside a lowered suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes borrowed directly from the legendary McLaren Senna.

Buyers can choose between a traditional coupe variant featuring an S-duct intake or an open-top Spider configuration, with both body styles offering exposed carbon-fiber finishes.

"Only 200 examples will be built globally by McLaren Special Operations, ensuring that every single car remains an entirely unique piece of automotive art," brand representatives emphasized regarding the exclusivity of the release.
