Tom McCullough joins Red Bull as Head of Racing for 2027

Tom McCullough will join Red Bull as the team's new Head of Racing at the start of 2027, making a high-profile return to the Formula 1 front line after departing Aston Martin.

The experienced engineer is set to replace GianPiero Lambiase, who is scheduled to transition to McLaren as their chief racing officer by 2028 following a mandatory period of gardening leave.

McCullough shifted away from senior trackside responsibilities at Aston Martin in early 2025 to focus on their Performance Technologies division, ending a long tenure that began during the team's Force India era.

With nearly 25 years of experience operating inside the Formula 1 paddock, McCullough brings a wealth of technical expertise as Red Bull continues strategic recruitment efforts off the grid, which also includes securing Mercedes driver development head Gwen Lagrue.

Red Bull secures experienced engineering talent

Red Bull confirmed the appointment in an official statement, expressing enthusiasm about adding McCullough's extensive paddock knowledge to their leadership team in Milton Keynes.

"We're delighted to bring Tom to the Team at the beginning of 2027 and look forward to the wealth of experience and expertise he will bring to the role," stated Red Bull regarding the upcoming arrival.

While GianPiero Lambiase currently balances his leadership duties alongside race engineering for Max Verstappen, reports suggest Tom Hart could step into the race engineering role once Lambiase officially departs.
