In addition to addressing his contract, McTominay sought to calm any anxiety surrounding his health after confirmation that he faces a temporary spell on the sidelines for a minor medical intervention.
The former Manchester United player is set to undergo a brief procedure to address a mild, benign arrhythmia that was detected during the opening weeks of the 2026-27 Serie A campaign.
"I’m fine, the procedure was something I’d planned to do with the club for quite a while," McTominay assured reporters, explaining that the medical steps were coordinated during the pre-season period.
The midfielder is expected to miss a few weeks of action for the Partenopei while he undergoes and recovers from the planned medical procedure before returning to league duties.
