Piero Ausilio has officially left Inter Milan after a 28-year association with the Serie A giants, bringing an iconic chapter in Italian football management to a close.
The veteran sporting director, who originally started as a secretary in the youth department during the late 1990s before climbing to the first-team role in 2014, departed following the closure of the summer transfer window.

During his extensive tenure, Inter secured numerous prestigious trophies, including three Serie A titles, three Coppa Italia trophies, and three Supercoppa Italiana titles, alongside impressive runs to two Champions League finals.
Dario Baccin Steps Up As New Chief Sports Officer
Club President Beppe Marotta expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the entire organization, highlighting the intense work and passion shared alongside Ausilio throughout their years of collaboration at San Siro.
Dario Baccin has been immediately named as Inter Milan's new chief sports officer to succeed his long-standing predecessor.
"Dario knows the club well and is now ready to take on this new role that the ownership and I have designed for him," Marotta remarked regarding the appointment.
Baccin previously served as Ausilio's deputy and played a vital role in establishing the club's Under 23 team to promote sustainable player development.
